'Single and ready for fun' Peter Andre works off the heartache from his Elen split

His ex wife is currently dominating headlines with her very public and continuous display of affection with her 25-year-old lover.

So perhaps Peter Andre thought it was time to to steal some of the spotlight back.

The Australian singer threw on some attention-grabbing workout gear that showed off his muscular physique and set off on a jog.

His hot and sweaty exercise session was captured by photographers and, of course, his film crew, so that the workout can be broadcast on his new season of Peter Andre: The Next Chapter.

Peter, 38, is on holiday Larnaca, Cyprus, where he has a house, where he fled to last week after his amicable split from Elen Rivas.

He is enjoying a sunny break with children Junior, five, and Princess Tiaamii, three, and Katie Price's son Harvey, eight, from her relationship with Dwight Yorke.

It's certainly what his ex Katie Price has been doing - the model is ensconced in her boyfriend Leandro Penna's native Argentina while her ex has the children.

The 32-year-old has been keeping fans abreast of her romance, tweeting a series of cheesy romantic pictures of her and Leandro kissing and posing together in La Cumbrecita in Cordoba after she met his parents.

Katie recently revealed that during her marriage to Peter she had some of guards up as a result of her ex-boyfriend Dane Bowers hurting her.

She said of Bowers, whom she dated from 1998 to 2000: ‘He was the only guy who completely taught me about having your heart broken.

‘I’ve always said that Dane’s the one who did that. Because of Dane, he’s made me have my barriers up and even with Pete, I’d like to say they all went down, but there were a couple still up.’

Former WAG Elen Rivas was the first women to grow close to Peter Andre following his high-profile divorce from Katie Price.

But the Australian singer admitted he knew fairly early on it wasn't going to be happily ever after with the Spanish model.

Following their split earlier this month after five months together, Andre, 38, has spoken in depth for the first time about what went wrong.

He tells the new issue of Heat magazine: 'Elen and I never saw one another. I am so busy and so is Elen, and in my heart, I knew that the relationship was never going to step up to the next level. We weren't going to get married.

'We are better off as friends - and we are. It's amicable and I still meet up with her.

'We're mates, and if we had stayed together that could have been ruined. We never argued and if the relationship had continued, we would have started to row.'

Now single again following his 2009 divorce from Price, Andre says he's in no rush to find another wife.

He enthused: 'I'm a single man. This year is about having fun and lots of it. I'm not ready for a relationship and settling down and doing the love thing.

Mini-break instead of marathon: Last minute romantic getaway for injured Katie Price and her toy boy Leandro

She was meant to be running the London Marathon this weekend but after pulling out of the race last week it appears Katie Price is looking to get away from it all.

The glamour model and her toyboy Leandro Penna, who has recently returned to the UK after a short trip home in Argentina, were spotted at Heathrow yesterday.

But while Katie has had to pull out of the London race her brother Danny, who she has been training with, is set to run the Boston marathon on Monday so perhaps the pair are heading stateside to support him.


Katie will no doubt, be disappointed she is injured and unable to take part in the race on Sunday and she and Leandro could be jetting away from the U.K. to cheer her up.

Just days before the 26.2 mile London run Katie pulled out and posted a message to her official website.

She said: 'It is with great regret that I have had to pull out of this year’s London Marathon. I’ve been training really hard, but it became apparent at the Silverstone half marathon (6th March) that my knee is not strong enough to withstand extensive runs.

'My brother Danny, who was part of the team running the marathon with me, is now going to be doing the Boston Marathon [18th April]. We have obviously had a lot of generous donations made to us and we hope to keep raising more money through him.

Katie ran the circuit around the capital with then husband Peter Andre in 2009 but has had to pull out this year because of a knee injury.

Last week Katie and Leandro had enjoyed a day out at a theme park with Essex reality TV stars Kirk Norcross and his girlfriend Lauren Pope.

The glamour model met The Only Way is Essex stars on a recent night out to the Sugar Hut nightclub in Brentwood.

Katie and Leandro, who appear to be inseparable, have rubbished claims the couple are engaged.

Posting to her Twitter page Katie posted: 'People keep saying is it true I'm engaged! We are not engaged, we haven't spoke about getting engaged and I don't intend to get engaged.'

He might have enjoyed the ride on his dad's high-powered quad bike, but Peter Andre's son didn't appear to have much protection during the spin around his father's estate.

The five-year-old was perched on the front of the motorised vehicle wearing just a flimsy bike helmet for the private ride.

Peter's apparent relaxed approach to his son's safety may anger his estranged wife and Junior's mother, Katie Price.


Going solo: After taking Junior for a 'super slow' spin on the quad bike, Peter takes to the open road alone


The separated pair's son wore no other safety equipment during the spin around Peter's estate in East Grinstead, West Sussex, while Andrew himself wore no protective clothing or helmet at all.

The 38-year-old seemed oblivious to the potential danger - or the example he was setting his son.
