OC Housewife Alexis Bellino Talks To Dr. Drew

Earlier this week, Real Housewives of Orange County star Alexis Bellino revealed that she has struggled with an eating disorder. Following her admittance of the disorder, she spoke with Dr. Drew in an effort to set the record straight.

Bellino spoke about when the disease began, and sited that it was what was "eating her" not what she was eating that became the problem. At 12 years old her parents divorced and her inability to control the situation was one of the major reasons that she began purging. She also went on to say that gaining a few extra pounds in college only escalated the issue. When she realized that a friend was also doing the same thing, she continued on. She admitted to starving herself, binging, purging and even using laxatives.

It wasn't until she sought out help that she was able to get to the root of the problem. She began seeking the advice of a counselor and after her mother physically brought her to get help. Alexis Bellino admits that the battle was long and took many years to overcome, but that today she is happy to be healthy and in good spirits.

Alexis Bellino: "We Found Our Dream Home"

After losing their Newport Beach mini-mansion to the real estate collapse, Real Housewives of Orange County star Alexis Bellino and husband Jim are excited to be making a fresh start in a new house, and Radar Online has all the exclusive details.

"We've found our dream home," Bellino, 34, told Radar Online in an exclusive interview Saturday. "It's amazing. It has a huge long driveway, it has a backyard with all rock landscaping and a place to put a huge trampoline for the kids. It is one of those houses that I feel I will never grow out of," she explained.

"We don't have it yet we're going to get it - I'm a firm believer of if you think positive it will happen," said Bellino. "We're about two days away from knowing.

"We're going to be buying it, the kids are really excited about moving. Every move is stressful, but sometimes you just have to do it, you've got to move, especially when it's your dream home."

Alexis Bellino Talks Jim's Lack Of TV Time

Real Housewives of Orange County star Alexis Bellino hasn’t been seen with her husband, Jim Bellino, on the show as much these days, but there is apparently a simple reason.

Alexis recently revealed that Jim doesn’t want to film the show with Tamra or Vicki, states Gather. He reportedly doesn’t like them very much and doesn’t want any interaction.

One other person he might be trying to avoid is new cast member Peggy as the two reportedly dated in the past, something Alexis hasn’t elaborated on.

Alexis Bellino: Jim Used To Date Peggy Tanous

On last night’s episode of Watch What Happens Live Andy Cohen thought the biggest news bombshell that would drop on the show was the fact that Osama Bin Laden had been killed. But, midway through the show guest Alexis Bellino from Real Housewives of Orange County dropped what many OC fans would consider at least a similarly sized bomb: her husband Jim Bellino used to date new cast member Peggy Tanous!

This was a story we were already working on, but since Alexis actually confirmed it on the show I felt like we show go ahead and run with it. We have a source that was in the same circle of friends as Jim Bellino and Peggy Tyler (Peggy Tanous’ modeling name – see more on that here and here) who says they began dating in 1996 and continued through 1997 before Jim dumped her.

So that means Slade Smiley isn’t the only member of the Multi-OC Club! This sheds a whole new light on the tensions developing between Alexis and Peggy this season!

Real Housewives of Orange County star Alexis Bellino is no stranger to living a lavish lifestyle, so it should come as no surprise that she’s excited for the Royal Wedding!

Celebuzz chatted with the 34-year-old reality star turned fashion designer about everything from how she deals with negativity in the press, growing a “thick skin” during her second season of the Bravo show and the current relationship standings with all the other housewives:

The Royal Wedding is coming up – are you preparing anything or doing anything fun?

I’m not preparing anything, but I’m really excited about it. I’m going to drag my husband to watch it. [laughs]

What are you most excited about for the wedding?

I love everything about it. It’s so formal and elegant, and I love seeing the parade. I love the different presentations for it. I can’t wait to see her dress. It’s just all so exciting!

You’ve been on the show now for a couple of years. It what ways has your life changed since starting the show?

It’s changed a lot in the fact that when I first came on the show I was kind of naïve and thought I was going to be friends with everybody. After a season of seeing everyone’s true colors and seeing how reality television works, it put a bit of a twist for the second year. You second guess yourself more because you think about how other people will perceive it. I’ve also just decided that I need to take more risks. I was very timid and scared to be confrontational during the first year. I was worried about what America would think, but I realized people are going to have different opinions.

What is your relationship with the rest of the housewives like right now?

It’s sad because I thought with Peggy coming on we would be able to survive and get back to the friendship. We’re not really on good terms as of right now, but I’m still hopeful that something might change or that we can have a discussion and start over. I miss my friend. With Tamra, I’m just shocked at what comes out of her mouth. I was hopeful that Vicki and I could start again, but I’m hurt. I hope we can put the past behind us.

How do you deal with the negativity in the press?

I don’t even read what is in the press. I stay out of it because I know that no matter what, people are going to say negative things. If someone tells me they read something, I’m hurt at first, but I think my skin is a lot thicker this year.

The Bellinos Share 6 Of Their Many Rules

They're not exactly dating, but they are carrying on a committed relationship on the marriage-killing Bravo series, Real Housewives of Orange County. Jim and Alexis Bellino talked about how they stay together amid the pressures and temptations of being reality stars while on the "Dating On Reality TV" panel at the Reality Rocks Expo in Los Angeles on Saturday.

According to the couple, they did six months of couples therapy before they even signed the contracts to join the show, which Jim calls "preventative maintenance."

"I think a lot of it is preventative maintenance and anticipating what's coming," he says. "I would never recommend anybody be on a reality show if you're in a marriage. I mean if you think about it, three of the four married couples on the housewives are now divorced. We're the only ones in the last few years who are married."

Apparently, the world of reality TV (and its fans) do love themselves a breakup.

"We wanted to make sure that our foundation was strong enough that it can handle being rocked by every possible thing you can have thrown at you," Alexis says. "And you do. Every temptation possible, every negativity possible, [Reality TV] wants to rip you apart. Not to mention that the producers would like that, because it makes the show's ratings much better. I think we just stayed strong and true and we let each other be each other and we're just trying to grow together through this instead of grow apart."

In fact, the couple says they went into Real Housewives with several rules in place to avoid temptation and keep their bond strong.

"We had a contract between us and our therapist before we even started the show," Jim explains. "And that was very important. We sat down and we wrote many rules."

Here are just six of the rules the couple shared while on the panel:

1) If one of them doesn't agree with something the producers have asked them to do, they won't do it.

2) They don't go to nightclubs without each other.

3) They won't go out with anyone of the opposite sex (unless the person is Alexis' gay assistant) without each other.

4) They don't respond to Facebook friend requests from people of the opposite sex.

5) They know each other's passwords on everything, including Facebook, Twitter and cell phones.

6) They won't go out on a "girls night out" or a "guys out night."

Alexis Bellino's $5 Million Home Sells For $3 Mill

One of the Real Housewives of Orange County's real-estate woes are over. For now, at least.

The six-bedroom home Alexis Bellino shared with husband Jim and three young children sold for $3 million, a steep drop from November’s $5 million asking price, the Orange County Register reports.

Developments has chronicled the Bellinos’ near-foreclosure after they reportedly defaulted on the loan for their Newport Beach, Calif., mansion. That sent them spiraling toward foreclosure, but they were able to arrange a short sale, or selling the home for less than what’s owed, to avoid losing it to the lender. The Bellinos, who could not be reached for comment, have made it clear the drama is a business decision, not an indication of any financial woes.

The 4,200-square-foot home was purchased at the height of the real-estate frenzy, when it seemed values could only increase: It sold for $4.56 million in August 2007, a month after the county’s median home price struck an all-time high and then plunged 42%. The debt on the home has been reported at $4.7 million. Many Americans in similar positions are walking away from their homes.

Housing could easily be a main theme on the Orange County-based reality show — though the blonde, Botoxed stars seem more interested in shopping and cat fights. We’ve reported that newcomer Peggy Tanous’ home could be auctioned today, though such events are often delayed at the last minute. (The Register provided an interesting peek into the residence with everything from Versace china to a sword collection.)

Tamra Barney unloaded her 4,300-square-foot Tuscan-style mansion in a short sale last year. Jeana Keough used a loan mod to avoid foreclosure on her seven-bedroom, nine-bathroom home.
